R. BAIRD, INSTRUCTOR,  was first introduced to original forms of yoga in San Francisco, California as a child. She has been on the path of Yogini for most of her life.  Studying various forms of spiritual knowledge, energy healing, and bodywork as well as yogic practices including Hatha, Anna Forest Method, Anusara, Bhakti, Restorative, Yoga Nidra, somatic and therapeutic Kaiut Yoga Method, she brings a deep history, rich experience, and understanding of the path of yoga to her classes.  A grounded and kind guide, her approach is truly transformative.

BAIRD's somatic lens to asana practice helps the brain and nervous system retrain to let go of limiting patterns that cause pain and restriction.  Her classes are centering and awakening to the body/mind/spirit connection, with deep and focused awareness, balancing the nervous system to access change.  R BAIRD teaches sequences in a safe and powerful way for every – body to enliven according to the needs of the individual.


Therapeutic/Kaiut This classical pre-Vedic somatic form is taught utilizing the therapeutic approach of the Kaiut Yoga Method, the work of Brazilian Chiropractor Francisco Kaiut. Specifically designed to work with the nervous system and move beyond the ordinary stretching of muscles, deep into the joints and connective tissues themselves. This class is appropriate for all body types, from the flexible to people with chronic pain, stiffness, injury from sports and other activities, the young and aging alike. Expect a unique class with extraordinary transformational potential!

Biomechanical Health - Unlike muscle-centered yoga asana practices, the Kaiut Yoga Method works with the nervous system and focused poses for joint mobility. As the joints release and open, connective tissue and muscles attached do the same.  There is a deeper connection, through the tending of joint mobility, in the way fluids move through our body, increasing not only freedom of movement, but also health and well-being of internal organs and the brain. 

The body returns to a dynamic structure and functionality.

The Kaiut Yoga Method has a dramatic impact in countering the harmful effects of modern societal habits, restoring wholeness to the body/mind/spirit relationship.  Through gentle attunement - communication and awareness of the nervous system, the brain, body, and energy currents, in quiet focus, in movement, and at rest, a greater opening forms. A Heart-Centered classical Hatha practice, Special six-week series. Peace Yoga guides from the inside-out via the Heart and Hara, moving through gentle sustained postures, breath-work, chanting, and guided meditation direct energy flow, balancing the inner and outer forces of life.


Yoga Nidra literally means yogic sleep. It is an ancient technique where the practitioner enters the deep states of conscious relaxation, the keyword here being conscious. It is a systematic practice of moving awareness from our external world to the inner world. Practiced before sleep, it calms the mind and nervous system, allowing the release of anxiety, more deep, vital, and restful sleep as well as more awareness of the dream state.
